Domain Transfer Out FAQ

How to Transfer a Domain Out of West.cn? 

To ensure your domain can be transferred out smoothly, please first check the domain expiration date and domain status to make sure they meet the necessary conditions for transfer-out.

West.cn Domain Transfer-out Requirements:

1. At least 60 days must have passed since the domain registration, the most recent renewal, transfer, or change of registrant information; the domain must not be expired. If you encounter any problems during the transfer-out process, you can submit a question via  Q&A  for consultation.

2. If the domain expired and was renewed, and you apply to transfer to another registrar less than 45 days after the successful renewal, the new registrar will not add another year. You will lose one year of renewal fees. It is recommended to wait until 45 days have passed before transferring.
   

3. The domain must be in normal status and free of any disputes, conflicts, or outstanding fees;

4. Before transferring out, please check whether the domain owner's email address is available. The transfer password is sent to the domain owner's email address;

5. Domain transfers may vary depending on the gaining registrar, agent, etc. Please follow our specific procedures;

6. For domain security, if the account email or mobile phone number is changed, the domain cannot be transferred out within 1 day of the change; if the security verification is reset, the domain cannot be transferred out within 7 days;

7. After a domain is transferred through the product transfer-in or product transfer-out function, the domain cannot be transferred out within 24 hours;

8. Domains that are currently being traded or auctioned cannot be transferred out;

9. For domain security, if a domain has undergone an account transfer within 7 days, such as push or transaction, the fast transfer function cannot be used when applying for transfer-out;

10. To ensure a successful domain transfer, please submit the transfer-out request at least 7 days before expiration. If the domain expires during the transfer, the transfer cannot be completed.

Why didn't my email receive the domain transfer password?

Answer: The domain transfer password is sent to the domain owner's email address. Please check whether the email address is correct and check your spam folder, or change the email address and then request the transfer password again.

What should I do if I do not receive the SMS verification code when submitting a domain transfer-out application?

Answer: On the Submit Transfer-out Application page, next to the SMS verification code field, you can click resend or click voice retrieval.

The West.cn domain transfer password has already been submitted at another registrar. How can I complete the transfer immediately?

Answer: After the domain transfer-in application is submitted at the other registrar, you can log in to West.cn and go to Management Account - Business Management - Domain Management - Manage - Domain Transfer-out - Transfer-out List, then click "Approve Transfer-out Now". In this way, the domain transfer can be completed within 1 hour.

How long is the West.cn domain transfer password valid?

Answer: After obtaining the transfer password, please submit it at another registrar as soon as possible. The transfer password will expire after 15 days.

Is it free to transfer a West.cn domain out?

Answer: West.cn does not charge a transfer-out fee for domain transfers.

What should I do if I submitted a transfer-out request but then decide not to transfer out?

Answer: If you have only obtained the transfer password and have not yet submitted the transfer at the new registrar, you do not need to do anything.

If you have already submitted the transfer request at the new registrar and the system has entered the processing stage, you can click "Reject" in the email sent by the system asking whether you agree to the transfer to cancel it. You can also cancel it in the transfer list in the Management Center.

Domain Transfer-out Instructions:

After your transfer-out application is approved, we will send the domain transfer password to the domain owner's email address.

You need to provide this password to the new registrar and initiate the transfer request.

After the transfer request is submitted successfully, the status in this list will show as "Auto Transferring Out" (usually updated 1 hour after successful submission at the new registrar). At this point, you can still immediately approve the transfer-out or cancel it.
