Access website prompt: You are not authorized to view this page. Recovery method
Published: 2010-10-28
I. Website access prompt:
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page because the access control list (ACL) is configured for this resource on the Web server. Possible causes: 1. Directory permissions are lost. 2. The password for the computer username ftpname account is inconsistent with that recorded in IIS.
Solution:
1. If the website was created with Website Management Assistant, double-click this site in Management Assistant, then click “Fix the problem of not being authorized to view this page” and it will be fixed. (If this button is not available, please upgrade the software to the latest version.)

2. In addition, you can use this small script to restore permissions.
http://download.myhostadmin.net/vps/vpsquanxian.vbs
Download and place it in d:\, then go to cmd and run cscript d:\vpsquanxian.vbs
Conditions for using this script to restore permissions:
1.The directory name, IIS site name, and user name are exactly the same.
2.IIS directory security has been set up and is correct.
3.The website directory is stored in d:\wwwroot
4. All site accesses show this prompt, and manual handling takes a long time.
