Published: 2010-03-02
How to change the password:
You must first log in to the server remotely. For how to log in remotely, please refer to: www.west.cn/faq/list.asp?unid=417
Command-line modification:
Open the cmd command line, and enter net user administrator xxxx
Graphical interface modification is as follows:
windows2003 system:
1. Right-click My Computer and click "Manage":

2. In "Local Users and Groups", open "Users", and find the Administrator account on the right:

2008 system
Right-click My Computer -- Manage. After entering, go to Configuration - Local Users and Groups - Users, and find the administrator account on the right:

3. Right-click the Administrator account and select "Change password" to set your new password:

4. After modification, please remember your system administrator password. If you forget it and need to recover the password, you can modify it by clicking the "Change Password" function in Server Management in the Management Center. If security protection software is installed on the server, the modification may fail, and you need to submit a ticket for manual reset.
After changing the password, do not disconnect the remote connection first. Open a new remote connection, log in with the new password to test whether the change was successful, and close it only after the change is successful.

To change the root administrator password on a Linux server, you need to use ssh to log in to the server and make the change. Users who are not very familiar with Linux server operations are advised to submit a ticket, and our company will perform the operation on their behalf.
To log in via ssh, first download an ssh login client. We provide the Chinese version of putty. Download address:
http://downinfo.myhostadmin.net/pietty.exe
Login process:
1. Enter the IP address. If it is a shared IP, enter the IP for remote connection.
2. Enter the port (our default port is 22000). If it is a shared IP, enter the port for remote connection.

Enter the new password as prompted. When entering the new password, the software will not display asterisks (*). After entering, just press Enter. As shown in the figure below:
After changing the password, do not close the client first. Open a new client, log in with the new password to test whether the change was successful, and close the client only after the change is successful.
(Note: If you are using the webmin management platform, the root password for logging in to webmin will also be changed.)
