West Digital Temporary Template Usage Instructions and Specifications
Published: 2021-11-25
The registry requires domain name registrants to provide a real-name template that has passed review when registering a domain name. If it is the first time registering a domain name, the user does not yet have an available template on the day of domain registration. Even if it is created immediately, after uploading real-name information, the user still needs to wait for manual review by the registry, generally 1~3 days. In order for users to register the domain name as soon as possible and then complete real-name verification, our company provides a “Temporary Template” service : When a user registers a domain name, if there is no available template, we will first use our company’s temporary template to register the domain name; the domain name will be in a locked state (unusable), and at the same time a template belonging to the user will be automatically created. After uploading the relevant information, the user waits for the registry to review the real-name template. After the template is approved, the system will automatically change the domain information to the user’s own template and unlock it.
The usage instructions and rules for this function are as follows:
1. Service Scope
The temporary template service provided by our company only applies to some domain names registered through 西部数码’s own interface; the specific scope is subject to the page prompt.
Domain names registered using a temporary template have functional restrictions (see “2. Usage Restrictions” for details). Please submit real-name information in the domain list as soon as possible (or find the Associated Template in Template Management and upload real-name information). Once real-name verification is approved, the system will automatically complete the ownership transfer; just wait patiently. If you need to change the domain name owner, please create a new template; after it passes real-name verification, complete the ownership transfer manually.
How to find the associated template and submit information:
[Scenario 1] Register by filling in new information: The system automatically creates a new template and suffix ID. The user can find the corresponding template through the owner and upload real-name information; after real-name verification is approved, ownership transfer will be completed automatically.
[Scenario 2] Register by selecting a template that has already passed real-name verification: There is no need to re-upload information; the system automatically creates the corresponding ID and reports it; after real-name verification is approved, ownership transfer will be completed automatically.
2. Usage Restrictions
Domain names using a temporary template will be prohibited from resolution (set to clienthold), and cannot perform operations such as domain trading, push, modifying dns, transfer out, resolution settings, viewing domain registration information, and setting forwarding. After the created template passes real-name verification, performing the ownership transfer will remove the restriction.

Note: A template status of “Real-name Verification Successful” does not mean that all its associated suffix IDs have completed real-name verification. If there is no ID for the corresponding suffix, or the associated suffix ID has not passed real-name verification, or the original ID status is abnormal, a manual ownership transfer will not succeed immediately; the status will be “Transferring.” After the corresponding ID passes real-name verification, the system will automatically complete the ownership transfer. Do not repeatedly perform the ownership transfer.
3. Usage Guidelines
(1) If the corresponding registry ID associated with the template has already completed real-name verification, our company will not provide the temporary template service;
(2) The domain name temporary template service does not mean that users can use the temporary template as domain name registration information for a long time. Users must, after successful domain registration, promptly transfer the domain name to a real-name-verified template with true, accurate, and complete information. If the user fails to update in a timely manner and causes losses, our company will not bear relevant liability;
(3) The domain registration information under the temporary template displays relevant information entrusted by our company, not the user’s actual information. If there are emails sent to the whois mailbox of the temporary template, our company does not provide forwarding services; losses caused thereby shall be borne by the user;
(4) When a domain name using a temporary template is subject to circumstances including but not limited to domain disputes, arbitration, litigation, violations, cancellation, etc., and our company cannot notify through the domain registration information, our company has the right to suspend, cancel, return, transfer the domain name, and take other related operations in accordance with relevant regulations; the resulting losses and liabilities shall be borne by the user;
(5) Domain names registered using a temporary template do not support deletion and refund;
