How to mount FSS object storage locally?
Published: 2020-08-13
Reminder:
1. Because random IO is not supported, do not store hot files that need to be rewritten at any time in this partition (such as database files and log files), otherwise performance will be extremely poor. FSS is generally used to store backup data, videos, photos, and other data that does not need frequent read/write.
2. FSS mounting only supports system bucket users; self-created accounts do not support mounting.
3. If you only transfer files to fss for backup, it is recommended to use the fsstool tool, mounting will be subject to many restrictions. In particular, mounting is single-threaded and very inefficient. fsstool tool supports linux and windows systems. You can also add a scheduled task to implement automatic backup. Using the tool enables multi-threaded, efficient backup.FSStool Usage Tutorial
I. Mount FSS object storage to a linux server
1. Install the davfs2 file system driver.
Debian/Ubuntu systems: apt-get install davfs2 -y
RHCL/CentOS/Fedora systems: yum install davfs2 -y
2. Create a mount directory. For example:
mkdir /fssdb
3. Execute the mount command.
mount -t davfs https://ndisk-fss-my.vhostgo.com /fssdb

And enter the FSS object storage administrator username (same as the bucket name) and password as prompted.
4. Set it to start on boot (this step is optional).
a. Edit the /etc/davfs2/secrets file, and write https://ndisk-fss-my.vhostgo.com username password on the last line of the file. For example:

b. Edit the /etc/rc.local file, and write mount -t davfs https://ndisk-fss-my.vhostgo.com /fssdb on the last line. For example:

Note: If you need to copy relatively large files to this disk, you need to increase the read_timeout read timeout in the davfs2 configuration file (path /etc/davfs2/davfs2.conf).
II. Mount FSS object storage to a Windows server
If it cannot be mounted as shown in the figure, please refer to whether related services are not installed: https://www.west.cn/faq/list.asp?unid=2397
1. Open My Computer and select Map Network Drive.

2. In the folder field, enter https://ndisk-fss-my.vhostgo.com and click Finish.

3. Enter the FSS object storage administrator username (same as the bucket name) and password.

4. After successful mounting, you can see the network drive mounted locally as shown in the figure.

Note: If it cannot be used normally, check whether the WebClient service is started and set to automatic startup.
1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage. In the displayed dialog box, expand the Services and Applications node, and find the WebClient option in Services.

2. Right-click to start this service.

3. Select WebClient, right-click, and choose Properties in the option box. In the pop-up Properties dialog box, change the Startup type to Automatic.
