National Domain Protection Lock Service, in short: launched by 中国互联网络信息中心, the registry for .CN and .中国 domain names, it is the highest-level locking service for protecting national domain name security.
(1) Function Introduction
National Domain Protection Lock (Registry Lock) is a security locking service at the highest security level currently available for national domain names (.CN/.中国), launched by 中国互联网络信息中心 (CNNIC). This service sets three EPP standard statuses for national domain names: Server Delete Prohibited (deletion prohibited), Server Update Prohibited (modification prohibited), and Server Transfer Prohibited (transfer prohibited).

The setting and release of statuses are both directly handled by 中国互联网络信息中心 (CNNIC). After Protection Lock is set on a domain name, operations such as updating domain registration information, changing the domain registrant, transferring the domain to another registrar, and changing DNS servers require, in addition to the normal system verification process, corresponding verification by dedicated CNNIC personnel before the operation is performed.
Through this service, the domain security of national domain name registrants can be effectively protected after security issues occur in their accounts at the registrar, greatly reducing the risk of users' domain names being maliciously modified, transferred, or deleted.
(2) Service Classification
The National Domain Protection Lock Service is divided into Standard Edition and Advanced Edition according to different service methods.
1. Standard Edition Protection Lock Service (Registry Lock Service - Standard)
Users submit Protection Lock operation applications through 西部数码. 西部数码 is responsible for verifying the user's identity and confirming the application intention. After CNNIC verifies the identity of the 西部数码 contact person, the corresponding Protection Lock operation is performed.
2. Advanced Edition Protection Lock Service (Registry Lock Service - Advanced)
Users submit Protection Lock operation applications through 西部数码. 西部数码 is responsible for verifying the user's identity and confirming the application intention. CNNIC first verifies the identity of the 西部数码 contact person, and further verifies the user's identity by telephone and password card password. After both verifications are successful, the corresponding Protection Lock operation is performed.
(3) Service Hours
Protection Lock Standard Service: CNNIC accepts applications 8 hours per workday.
Protection Lock Advanced Service: CNNIC provides 7*24-hour application acceptance.

1) Standard Edition Protection Lock Service (from 00:00 on April 10, 2026, the ".CN" and ".中国" domain name Protection Lock (Standard Edition) service will be adjusted to free of charge.)

2) Advanced Edition Protection Lock Service ( from 00:00 on April 10, 2026, new subscriptions and renewals will no longer be provided for the ".CN" and ".中国" domain name Protection Lock (Advanced Edition) service. Existing users' unexpired services are not affected and will continue to be provided until the service expires.)
Application fee: CNY 10,800.00/year; 5-year special price: CNY 37,800.00/5 years.
