Trademark Correction Business Notice

For a trademark whose registrant name, registered address or other registration particulars (agent, document recipient) are changed, an application shall be filed with the Trademark Office. Where a trademark registration applicant or registrant finds obvious errors in the trademark application documents or registration documents, the applicant or registrant may apply for correction. The errors to be corrected are limited to individual textual errors in items such as the name, address, goods, etc. in the application documents or registration documents, and do not involve substantive content.

1. Time for trademark correction: submission of application - acceptance notice - approval of change; the correction approval notice is issued within about 3 months; substantive examination is completed in about 6-10 months.

2. Trademark correction process: submit a trademark correction application → consultant calls back → prepare materials → submit the application to the Trademark Office → examination → certificate documents may be reissued.
